Light Sources

In the event of a power outage, a light source is a saving grace. We recommend that you store as many light sources as possible in your home. We often don't realize the importance of being able to see, especially when we have children or pets who could be afraid of the dark.

Emergency lights for home power failure can include the following options:
Flashlight: A fundamental lighting option for your emergency kit.
Headlamp: Useful for hands-free illumination.
Battery-powered LED camping lantern: Offers varying brightness and extended battery life.
Candles: A traditional option.
Mirrors to reflect light: Can amplify available light.
Oil and kerosene lamps: Useful for longer-lasting illumination.
Outdoor solar lights brought inside: Can provide light during power outages.
Glow sticks: A portable and easy-to-use option12.
Plug-in emergency lights: Install around your home to be prepared3.
LED power failure light: Automatically lights up when power is lost3.
